Hotel Tricks
Another great way is by getting involved with the resort’s big, upbeat activities program. This happens to be a favorite spot for Thai family and corporate group getaways so it can be energetic. Make use of the large swimming pool and if you happen to be staying with a group, ask about their adventure activities on offer (usually ATV riding, rope courses or even rafting trips that can all be arranged directly from the hotel). That’s what makes this place an easy-and-fun getaway destination! No need to leave the resort on your first day; just settle in and explore its huge grounds.
Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam is the world’s longest concrete dam. Twenty to thirty minutes away from the resort by car, this place should not be missed when visiting Nakhon Nayok. Here is a very useful piece of advice: do not view it only from below but drive or get a ride on top with a songthaew—a local passenger vehicle where people sit on two benches at the back of a pick-up truck. The views from up there, both over the artificial lake and down along the river valley toward Nakhon Nayok, are something special; they make fantastic pictures! There is also an adventure option available here as well: hiring longtail boats at its marina to further explore inside reservoirs where small waterfalls accessible only through water exist.
For a real nature fix, head out to one of the waterfalls near here. Try to go on a weekday morning if you can since it gets packed with local picnic crowds on the weekends. Also nearby is Wang Takrai Park or so-called “Fairy Stream”-another shaded beautiful spot by the water but watch out for flash floods in rainy season! This whole area is the natural heart of the province and very close to our resort.
For a true experience of the local food, travel into the main town (a 20-minute drive) and eat at its night market. Yes, a buffet is convenient, but here you will find something much closer to what the locals really eat-and for how much. Pick through various stalls offering all manner of Thai snacks both weird and wonderful; grilled meats; fresh fruit smoothies; noodle dishes. It’s vibrant, friendly-and happens to be delicious. For that unique cafe experience hunt down one of two small trendy places that have sprung up in the rice paddies nearby serving great coffee with a beautiful view.
End your day with a real local-style resort experience. Rooms are just simple and functional, not luxury at all. The true luxury here is in its beautiful natural setting together with conveniences of on-site facilities , prepare some mosquito repellent since you will be staying right by the river and gardens . Focus on outdoor fun , beautiful river and nearby natural wonders to have a fantastic yet very authentic Thai getaway.
